Coptic Church Review is a Coptic Orthodox publication published in the United States and founded in 1980 by Doctor Rodolph Yanney, president of the Society of Coptic Church Studies.

The Journal invites submission of articles on biblical, liturgical, patristic or. spiritual topics. IN 2010 The leadership was transferred to Archdeacon Habib Guirguis Educational fund.

A word about the founder

Dr. Rodolph M. Yanney

Dr. Rodolph M. Yanney was born in Assiut, Egypt on January 3, 1930. He has lived in Lebanon, PA since 1971, and was formerly of Jersey City, NJ and Cairo, Egypt. Dr. Yanney was a member of St. Anthony Coptic Orthodox Church of Annville, PA and St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church of Lancaster, PA.

Dr. Yanney was very dedicated to the Coptic Orthodox Church and served as Superintendent of Bible Study in both Egypt and the United States. He often wrote and lectured about the persecution of Christians in Egypt and in 1981 he led a group of outspoken Copts who fought for the release of Pope Shenouda III from house arrest. Dr. Yanney also studied and wrote about the lives and teachings of the early Church Fathers. He authored three volumes about the history and traditions of the Coptic Orthodox Church. In 1980, he founded the Society of Coptic Church Studies which published “Coptic Church Review”, a scholarly journal dedicated to biblical studies, patristics, and the doctrines of the Coptic Orthodox Church. For nearly three decades, Dr. Yanney served as Chief Editor of “Coptic Church Review” and contributed many articles. Dr. Yanney also published “The Bulletin” and “El-Resala” periodicals about current events in the Coptic Orthodox Church. In addition to his prolific writings, Dr. Yanney was also a renowned international speaker who lectured at many churches and universities.

Dr. Yanney was a quiet man who wielded a strong and learned pen. He was a faithful advocate for his church and his patients.
Dr. Yanney received his MD from Cairo University in 1952. He received a Diploma of Medicine in 1959, a Diploma of Cardiology in 1963, and a Diploma of Pediatrics in 1964. Dr. Yanney worked in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Pediatrics in Egypt. In 1968, Dr. Yanney and his family immigrated to the United States where he worked in Internal Medicine, and Cardiology. In 1969 he passed the District of Columbia State Board of Medicine Examination, and in 1970 he became American Board of Internal Medicine Certified. In 1987, he received the American Board of Internal Medicine Advanced Achievement in Internal Medicine. Dr. Yanney was a member of the American College of Physicians since 1974, and in 1990 he became a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Yanney was a licensed Physician in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia.
